Home Reno Challenge Week 2

Welcome, you guys, to Week 2 of the Jeffrey Court Renovation Challenge.  With the tile being delivered later this week, finishing the demo process and repairing the walls are my main goals.  If you missed Week 1, you can read it right here.  Because I am repainting the entire room, I had to begin the process of picking the color scheme.  I definitely had ideas in mind of what I was leaning towards, but walking into the paint store to select the perfect color was almost more than my little pea brain could handle.  I mean, does there really have to be a gazillion shades of gray?  50 shades is plenty.

Mood

Throughout the last week, I created a collection of ideas to help me narrow down what I am hoping to achieve during this reno project.  I like to create a mood board at the beginning of each project that may not necessarily reflect  the actual product choices I ultimately end up with, but rather convey a general idea or feel about the project.

Boho Farmhouse

I really want to give this space an updated farmhouse style with a boho twist keeping in line with the farmhouse cred reflected throughout the rest of the house.  Bedding with tassels and fun Jeffrey Court tile around the fireplace are only two of the elements that will turn this space into a much-needed sanctuary.

Boho style can definitely be as diverse as the person who creates it and while I don’t plan on sewing curtains out of my old clothes, I definitely want it to reflect my own personality.

So this week as the beat goes on, I can’t  believe how many nail holes there are to fill.  I’m one of those eye-ball-it-and-hang-it kind of girls so I shouldn’t be that surprised that there are a million holes everywhere.  That does mean I am buying spackling by the gallon. Below you can see two of the too numerous ones to show.  The spackling needed to set up for a couple of hours after I applied it.  Maybe I can sneak in a nap while I wait.

So as the ladders are set up and the drop cloths are down, the painting begins.  Living in utter chaos is the absolute worst, but it’s a great motivator to work faster.  And, yes, I am sleeping in here while the project is going on.

Next week I cannot wait to share with you my actual product selections.  Don’t forget to head on over to my Instagram page to see updated stories on the progress.

Ready, set, paint…
