Easy Bandana Bunting For Spring

You may be looking for some quick accessories to add to your home decor this season so I’ve got an easy bandana bunting DIY for spring that you can make in just a few steps.

What you’ll need to get started for this easy bandana buare three different bandanas and a package of bias tape.   You can just as easily use fat quarters or scraps of fabric you have lying around, that works great, too.  I personally have a stash of bandanas in my craft room so I grabbed the yellow, black and white striped and then a piece of buffalo plaid fabric.  You can pick them up at Hobby Lobby for $o.99 a piece and they have a huge assortment.

Template

I started by making a template for my triangles.  For this I simply used a left-over piece of copy paper that I pulled out of my printer and decided on the size I wanted.

For this project a 4-inch triangle worked best for me.  However, you can adjust to any size you prefer.  I knew I would be draping it over an old window frame and I didn’t want the triangles to be too overpowering.

Decide how long you want to make your bunting.  I suggest cutting an odd number of triangles.  I chose 13 for this project; 7 yellow, 4 buffalo plaid, 2 striped.  Once you finish cutting all of them out, grab your bias tape.

Assemble

Now, this is the fun part.  I actually brushed the dust off my sewing machine for this one.  I say that in jest, but it is so true.  Sewing and me aren’t the best of friends, but we managed to call a truce for this project.  If you don’t have a sewing machine, though, no problem.  You can use a glue gun or fabric glue and get the same results.

To assemble, all you do is open the bias tape and lay the triangle edge inside and sew, sew, sew or glue, glue, glue.  It took all of ten minutes to put together my 13 triangles.  That’s my kinda DIY.

What’s better than Great Dane booty and bunting.

And there you go, Friends.  An easy DIY that will bring some fun to any space.

What color bandanas would you choose?
