The Easiest Summer Wreath You’ll Ever Make

I can honestly say if you’re looking for a great wreath for your font door this season, once you get your supplies together, this will be the easiest summer wreath you will ever make.

Rain Boot Wreath

Once Spring is over and the rain goes away, don’t think you need to put this rain boot wreath into storage until next year.  I plan on leaving it up all summer long.  Here’s a list of what you will need to get started.

Supplies

Toddler size 10 rain boots (Mine are from here)

3 white daisies

3 yellow daisies

3 green stems

3 yellow stems

7 yellow ball stems

5 white stems

Flower foam

Polka dot ribbon

Pick Your Flowers

I knew it would take a couple days to receive my rain boots in the mail so in the meantime, I made a trip to Hobby Lobby to get everything else I would need.  I made sure it was a week when the flowers were 40% off which really can save you a bundle.

I literally went up and down the flower isles picking the colors I was drawn to and held them up until I was satisfied with what I had.  This is purely your preference on what you like.

I grabbed all the other supples and waited for my boots.

Once they arrived, I layed everything out and began cutting my faux flowers apart.  I cut all the stems into pieces so I could maneuver where they would go in the boots easier.

Grab your  flower foam piece and make sure it fits inside your boots.  If it doesn’t quite fit, don’t worry.  Just cut it to size.  It only needs to come up about halfway inside the rain boot so you won’t need much.  This is what you will insert your floral stems into to hold them in place.

Ribbon

Grab your ribbon and cut it into one 32-inch-long piece.  Once it’s cut, tie each end to the loops of each boot pulling them together and leaving approximately a 3-inch tail.  Once it’s tied on each end, cut your tail like this.

Now that your boots are hanging from each end of the ribbon, make a big bow and tie or wire it on to the center of your 32-inch ribbon and start arranging your flowers.  I didn’t take any photos of this process, but you can see from mine how I did this. I actually hung my boots before I added the flowers so I could accurately see how they would hang.

This is the point that I cut some of my floral stems even more so they would have varying heights.  Make sure each stem is pushed down into your flower foam.  This keeps them in place and, also, keeps the wind from blowing them away.

You Did It

And that’s it friends, you did it.  Once you have all your supples, you can have this hanging on your door literally in less than 30 minutes.  It’s that easy.  Don’t want yellow?  The boots come in all different colors that are easy to coordinate your favorite flowers  with so don’t limit yourself.
