Tis the season for merry tablescapes. The halls are decked and the season of parties and hosting begins.
I am so excited to be joining a group of bloggers and sharing our tips and inspiration for your holiday table. If you’re following along, you should have just come from Marci’s beautiful home Lemons to Lovelys. Also, Be sure and peek inside her Instagram feed.
The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year
It is the most wonderful time of the year, and I wanted to display that sentiment loud and proud to my guests. This custom paper table runner would be what sets the stage for the entire table. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I have been using these a lot this year and I have been overwhelmed at your responses and how much you like them too. After many inquires from people wanting to purchase one, I have added them to my shop link here and they can be customized to whatever you like and used long after Christmas is over.
Breaking From Tradition
Traditional reds and greens really do represent Christmas,
however, sometimes it’s fun to take a break from tradition.
I chose to give my table more of a wintery vibe to ring in the season this year. Sticking with greens and black colors have set the tone, much like the rest of my house. Here I’ve started with fresh greens and branched out a little by adding few faux floral picks and ribbon for more interest. The holiday glow of lit tapered candles give the table ambiance. I, also, created this paper star garland and laid it down the middle of the table. Remember when you’re planning your table to keep the centerpiece low for easy conversation over dinner.
Parting Gifts
After a dinner party, I always like to send my guests home with a small parting gift or trinket, something to remember the evening by. While shopping at our local Vintage Market Days, I found these vintage-inspired postcard tags that I thought would be perfect. Each one has a different message and I love how they adorn the classic buffalo-check-patterned plates with simple white napkins.
Serve up your holiday goodies with a decorative tray.
Display appetizers or other decorative accents with a tray like this one from 3 Fox Den. The handle makes for ease of quickly moving it out of the way when more table space is needed.
Whip up these easy gingerbread ornaments that give nod to the season and send one home with your guests as a great parting gift as well. You can get the recipe and read the tutorial right here.
It’s not too early to start planning your tables if you’re hosting. Plan your table and more importantly your menu and do as much cooking and baking in advance as you can so you can, also, feel like a guest at your own party.
I hope you were able to take some ideas and inspiration from my table. Be sure and head to the next stop with my friend, Kellie at Gratefully Vintage and check out the list of all the talented ladies listed below.
