Creating Holiday Magic With Michaels

This past summer, I got to spend three amazing days with Michaels in Dallas, Texas shooting the Michaels Holiday Decor Guide and I’m happy to say, it is available right now!  I was so excited to finally get the print copy in my hands.  I’m here to tell you, this guide is all you’re gonna need to make holiday magic in your home this year.

(This post has been sponsored by Michaels.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.)

First Impressions

First of all, let me tell you, I have the most amazing job in the world.  It really was a dream to get to work with a company like Michaels on this project.  Here it was July in Dallas and we were only thinking about one thing, Christmas.

When I got to the location, which is a warehouse that Michaels uses to actually build the sets that look like rooms you’d find in your own home, I was amazed.  To see the process of what goes on behind the scenes was really surreal from the set builders, photographers, stylists to every single person on set.  The entire Michaels team that works behind all the gorgeous photos are incredible.

Tree Trimming Farmhouse Style

My first task was to trim the tree to reflect my own farmhouse style.  With the plethora of items I was able to choose from in Michaels’ inventory, this was easy to do, and so fun.

Mad For Plaid

Don’t know where to begin?  I like to start by picking out what ribbons I will be using.  I say ribbons “plural” because I always use more than one on my trees and mantel and you can bet my favorite plaid will make an appearance this year.

Try placing a smaller tree right next to the larger one to give your space maximum impact.  Also, coordinating your trees’ decorations with your mantel’s decorations will give your farmhouse space a nice cohesive look.  Guests will walk in and definitely get a “WOW” effect.   By doing this, you will create the right amount of holiday magic that you’re looking for.

Holiday Hosting

We all know how stressful it can be when you’re hosting guests in your home for the holidays.  The Michaels Holiday Decor Guide will give you ideas on making your day less stressful.

Michaels makes it easy to create table decor and centerpieces with their selection of stems and vessels.

I like to use a roll of craft paper as a table runner.  This can be easily personalized by adding a Holiday message to the end with your favorite Christmas carol.

Take it even one step further by customizing a message to each one of your guests telling them what it is about them that you are grateful for.

Have Fun

Most importantly, don’t forget to have fun.  Just because you’re hosting doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the day.  By delegating responsibility to your guests that ask if they can help, you won’t have to miss out on a single thing.

That’s A Wrap

And just like that, three days were over.  As an Influencer and Brand Ambassador, I can only dream of jobs like this one with Michaels.  I definitely walked away with enough Holiday Magic to incorporate in my own home this Christmas Season and you can, too.  Don’t forget to pick up your Holiday Decor Guide in Michaels Stores today or right here at Michaels.com.
