Hey Girlies! I’m so excited you’re here to check out my fun and simple Christmas Holiday tablescape.
The prepping begins.
As we all begin prepping for the big day’s meal, it’s time to get out the holiday table decor. I start by pulling out my white, everyday plates that I use for EVERYthing. I love using white plates. They are such a great choice in dinnerware and a great place to start when planning your table, so versatile and can be used for ANY occasion.
So even though I start with white, the red adds some cheeriness to the table and mixing patterns is one of my favorite things to do. I am ALL about the buffalo check this year. I mean seriously, give me ALL of it. Well, apparently you all love it too because ribbon and runners were so hard to find this year because you all had already bought out all the stores. Well, I solved that problem by making this runner out of a simple piece of fabric that I found at Walmart. I literally ripped it in half. I mean, NO sewing at all which is a bonus in my book. (My mom would be so proud.)
Place cards are a must
Each place setting to me is like a work of art. Something I’ve created that shows personality and beauty and makes each guest feel special. AND my number one rule even for casual dining is Always Always Always use place cards. It’s such a great personal touch and simple and easy. These are pre-made tags from my favorite go-to Hobby Lobby.
Use a fun centerpiece
For my centerpiece, I dug the old family sled out of the garage for this post. It hasn’t seen snow in a LOT of years since Kansas weather has decided to ban snow the past couple of years, or so it seems, so I decided to use it on the table instead. What the heck, right? It really deserves to be centerstage. This is, also, a perfect place to display all my white trees that I’ve either made or collected this year. The little vintage glass trees given to me by my sweet mom are a great compliment, I think, to each place setting.
Don’t forget to breathe
So, as you all get ready to host your family and friends around your tables this Christmas, remember to take some time and enjoy the moment. Don’t forget to breathe and be a part of the memories. Thanks for stopping by.
